The participants discuss their work experience in Armenia and reflect on their visit to the U.S.

Five young women from Armenia will be in Greater Boston October 13-21, 2023, to participate in an Open World grant program focused on advancing women’s leadership at the local government level. The delegates are hosted by the Cambridge-Yerevan Sister City Association (CYSCA) with funding from the Congressional Office for International Leadership (formerly known as the Open World Leadership Center), a legislative branch agency that supports the U.S. Congress. The Open World program brings emerging leaders from participating countries to the United States in order to give them firsthand exposure to the American system of participatory democracy and accountable governance.

CYSCA has designed a program of visits/meetings with government officials at the local, county, state, and federal levels as well as with individuals at local universities and non-profit organizations in areas of interest including leadership building, local development, women’s issues, disabilities, and environment.
